We had a wonderful time in your lovely apartment in Ashburton! Françoise was so helpful and quick to answer any questions we had. We spent most of our days exploring, but the apartment was a perfect place to unwind at the end of the day. We would definitely recommend it!

We have just spent a very comfortable and relaxing month staying in Francoise’s beautiful apartment. It was well equipped for every need. The garden is an added delight, where we enjoyed several afternoons sitting in the sun enjoying views across the rooftops to the church. It is in the heart of Ashburton and there are interesting shops, cafes and restaurants just a short walk away. We also enjoyed many beautiful local walks. Thank you for a lovely stay! Would thoroughly recommend.

Francoise apartment was right in the centre of Ashburton with free parking outside. Her place was clean and well organised with helpful instructions. It was full of her style, not a boring holiday let, with personal touches and bags of character. There was also a lovely peaceful garden. We really enjoyed our stay.

Despite the rather gloomy weather, we spent 3 very pleasant days in Ashburton and more specifically in Françoise's apartment equipped and tastefully decorated. Feel free to follow his suggestions rich in discoveries. Thanks again to her.

An outstanding stay in the heart of Ashburton, Devon. Cosy, comfortable and a lovely personal touch, ensured that our stay was warm and welcoming despite the winter weather. The apartment easily coped with 5 adults and 2 dogs with room to spare. Kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms wanted for nothing with plenty of care and attention given to ensuring that everything needed for a short comfortable stay was in place. Francoise was the perfect host and whilst we didn't get to meet in person there was never any doubt that she was immediately on hand with a great flow of information and reassuring messages throughout. Absolutely no doubt that the next time we visit Devon and Dartmoor, that we will stay again.

We had a lovely 4 weeks stay. The flat is located close to the local highstreet, and visiting the moors is very convenient also. The bathtub on the upper mezzanine is great for those long soaks. The complimentary bottle of prosecco was appreciated too. Francoise, the host, made us feel well looked after, we look forward to coming back another time.

Beautiful clean flat. Very well equipped. Really easy access to Dartmoor. Only thing to mention is that there is no dedicated parking. There is a pay and display 2min walk away and Francoise was really helpful re alternatives when asked.

Lovely, quirky apartment in well-maintained, quiet Stannary town with fantastic independent shops and cafes, as well as outdoor swimming pool and amazing Indian restaurant. Great location - easy access to Dartmoor and coast, and easy to get to the town from main A38 road. Great for a family of four, all equipment and nice garden. Good communication from host.

Well located flat which uses a small space very imaginatively. The kitchen was well stocked and instructions very clear. Francoise is a good host and was very quick to respond to any queries. Beware the competition for parking- it's on the street outside (not reserved) so you may have difficulty in finding a slot. Access to the delightful garden is a little tricky but worth it when you get there for the views above the town. Ella's bakery is superb and the Old Exeter Inn (just reopened) is fabulous too.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Ashburton is a good base for travelling around Devon and Cornwall. Francoise responded to all questions in a very timely manner. The only two things that you need to take in to consideration are that if you are leaving early or arriving late there are tenants on the other two floors beneath you. Parking is a bit hit and miss as it seems to be busy at all times, that being said there is a car park a very short walk away.

Great little flat, right in the centre of town. Not really suitable for young kids (unless your kids are unusually quiet) because there are tenants right below and wooden floors throughout the flat, so we had to tiptoe around a bit but a lovely place for a couple or two sharers.

We had a fantastic stay at Francois' gorgeous split level apartment. It is a really special place. We stayed for a month in between house moves. It had everything my wife, nine year old son and I needed. Francois has decorated the flat with care and attention to detail: all the cooking paraphenalia you could want for a holiday, and extra linens and towels too, plus washing machine and dishwasher. The garden is great: you climb up stone steps to reach a double terrace which is ideal for sipping wine in the evening or reading a book in the sunny afternoon overlooking the hills across the road with its sheep. The apartment is at the end of North Street, just a minute's walk from the great shops and cafes of Ashburton. We loved Cafe Latino's take away coffees, and visiting the new shops especially Salty's Studio (great cards and gifts) and The Craft Emporium (full of wonders from around the world and local candles etc). All the antique shops were great, and my wife loved taking our son to Taylor's for cream teas. The flat is ideal for couples or a family with an older child (I think there are too many steps in the garden and the flat to make it relaxing to have a toddler with you!)

We really enjoyed our week at High Oak House. This is a charming, quirky and characterful apartment lovingly decorated with lots of little touches and a beautiful garden. Our family of 4 and dog felt very much at home here. The apartment is in the heart of Ashburton, a pretty little town with everything you need on your doorstep. It's also the perfect base to explore Dartmoor and the wonderful countryside and coastline Devon has to offer. Francoise was a great host and even left us a little welcome gift. Highly recommended!

This is a very individually furnished appartment that is clean, comfortable, and provides everything you need. We liked it very much and also our dog did. For us, however, it was not so easy to find because Google Maps gives you a wrong address (by ~200 m). It‘s next to the pub straight across the meadow (where you would walk your dog).

I enjoyed the quirkiness of the apartment and it had all the facilities we needed for a short break. The location is very central to the town. Parking outside the apartment is difficult but the town centre parking is just a few minutes away and very reasonably priced. You should be aware that this is a second floor apartment with wooden floors so you are conscious of making noise as you walk around the apartment. Ashburton itself has some interesting antique shops but the availability of quality food is lacking. There are a couple of restaurants but they have very odd opening hours so be prepared to travel if you want to eat out.

This is a really lovely apartment in a great location for exploring Dartmoor and the South Devon coast. It has character and modern amenities with access to a secluded garden available to guests. We really enjoyed our short stay in Ashburton. Francoise was the perfect host. The apartment is wonderful, both inside where it has a lovely spacious but cosy feel that was easily big enough for our family of four, and outside in the beautiful garden. Ashburton itself has plenty of really interesting places to eat, drink and shop, and is a great base to explore the surrounding area. The apartment was very clean and well equipped, and had everything that we needed. Very highly recommended.

This apartment was beautifully cared for, bright and airy, and was just as lovely as the pictures. Francoise made all the arrangements for our arrival, and there was even a home- made cake waiting for us. The info sheet about the local area was also extremely helpful. The apartment is in central Ashburton, a stones throw away from shops and restaurants, and it was very easy to get out for walks on Dartmoor. A lovely relaxing spot, much recommended.

The apartment was beautiful, clean and very well equipped with kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery etc. My husband very much appreciated the cake which was left for us! The location so close to town and street parking were also easy, and the pub next door gave a vibe of being part of something lively and friendly. There was lots of room to put all of our things (we stayed for a week) and we had a lovely time. My only difficulty was that had I been travelling on my own I wouldn't have been able to get in and out as the door was too stiff for me but Francoise was very understanding about the panicked messages I left saying we must have the wrong key!

We had a lovely stay in Francoise's place - a beautiful get-away tucked into a charming street that starts with shops and climbs into the very heart of Dartmoor. Francoise was easy to contact and extremely helpful, sorting out everything we needed. It was a very relaxing place to be in a wonderful part of the world - ten minutes from the wonderful wilderness of Dartmoor and 40 minutes from some of the UK's best seaside towns, beaches and coastline.

Hi Jemima, thanks for your review. I didn't realise you would be arriving very late, so I didn't think it necessary to tell you about the tenants downstairs. However, I think this is a good idea, and will inform future guests. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

We spent a wonderful winter weekend, visiting Dartmoor and Dartmouth. The house has plenty of light, it is both modern and cosy, the kitchen is fully equipped, so we could spend evenings at 'home' discussing day events and planning next day activities. Momo, our dog, felt as well at home. Ashburton comic shop and the tea room, were as well hihglights of the trip. We look forward to come back again in Spring/Summer!

Staying at Francoise's with my family was honestly one of the loveliest weekends away. Ashburton is such a great place with amazing restaurants and a lot of charm. Her flat is very quirky and relaxing which makes for a truly incomparable stay. My favourite part of this apartment was the terraced garden - it is truly incredible. Throughout our stay Francoise was very helpful and always answering any questions I had which made for a relaxing stay. I highly recommend staying here, you will not regret it!

Lovely, quirky and very comfortable recently refurbished apartment next to Dartmoor National Park. Ashburton is a small town with nice cafes and little charming shops. Very well located, just 20 minutes drive to Totnes and many other attractions. Perfect for two couples (bedrooms have double beds). Highly recommended.
